The practice

Dr. Lehman and Dr. Thibaudeau pride themselves on making your dental experience as pleasant and as comfortable as possible. Fear of the unknown is very powerful.  Educating you about your treatment beforehand is the best way to make you feel the most comfortable. Dr. Lehman, Dr. Thibaudeau, and their staff thoroughly explain their treatment philosophy and procedures. If you have any questions before or during the procedure, we will carefully reexplain and won't begin again until you feel fully confident. Building trust reduces fear and affords a pleasant dental experience.

Our Philosophy

We are committed to understanding each patient’s personal needs, and to meet his or her expectations and desires. We strive to deliver patient satisfaction through technical excellence, financial responsibility and an exceptional concern for patient comfort. We provide service in an enthusiastic manner, in a welcoming and friendly environment.

Our Comprehensive Exam is key to developing unique treatment plans to achieve our patients’ end goals. In most cases, the results of the examination are analyzed by Dr. Lehman or Dr. Thibaudeau and shared immediately. Certain cases may warrant mulitple appointments to complete the indicated treatment plan. In every case, our goal is to provide complete transparency by ensuring that our patients understand all options available to them

James P Lehman, DDS

Dr. James P. Lehman earned his dental degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1982. He opened a practice in Kenosha, WI in 1982 and in Libertyville, IL in 1998.

He has invented, patented, and produced a unique toothbrush. The tri-level plastic design with all of the bristles the same length completely removes plaque down to the pellicle layer. This increases the time it takes for plaque to form, creating smoother feeling teeth that lasts all day long. We dispense the brush to our patients at your regular cleaning appointment. You can also buy additional brushes at the office or on the website firm-brush.com.

Dr Lehman has also made some technical advancements in the art of dentistry. By discovering a new syndrome known as Sprained Tooth Syndrome, he has helped many patients get relief with a quick and painless adjustment to remove destructive forces on the affected tooth.

Dr. Lehman is dedicated to serving the local community with not only the finest dental care, but also with donating of his time on projects, such as Head Start Dental Screenings and Dental Health Month appearances in the local schools. He also has coached soccer and basketball for many years.

Dr. Lehman lives in Libertyville, IL with his wife Kathy who, until recently, served as the school nurse at St. Joseph School in Libertyville. Together they have four children and 10 grandchildren.
